Sign up Gmail – If you’re thinking about whether you should create a new account on Gmail, I recommend that you make your decision as quickly as possible. As you know, Google’s free email platform is the most popular of all, and that means that your potential options for Gmail usernames is getting smaller by the minute (a salute to the person who managed to get the username “anonymous” before anyone else).
This tutorial is written for people who already have a Gmail account and want to create a new account on Gmail. If you’re signing up for Gmail for the first time, you can modify these steps slightly or use another one of our tutorials.
Sign up Gmail: How to create a new account on Gmail
I’m going to assume that you are already signed into your existing Gmail account on your computer and/or mobile device.
On your computer, you have two options to create a new Gmail account if you are already logged in to an existing one. First, you can completely sign out of your current account and then create the new Gmail account from scratch, just like you did the first time. Second, if you want your new account to be linked to your old one, you can click on your profile picture and select “add account”, then click “add account” again on the next screen, and then click “create account” on the last screen.
For mobile, you will have to follow essentially the same steps.
Once you’re past that point and actually on the registration page, it’s just like creating your first account: fill in your personal info, select a unique username, choose a strong password, enter your alternate contact information (which can be your old Gmail account if you want), etc.
